Today we did a lot of queries. We continue to work on the NEJobs database. We are almost done with tutorial 3. Maybe we'll have a test soon. I think the class is moving kind of slow. I see a lot of people not paying any attention. Maybe Access isnt an interesting class.

My book finally arrived. I found that the 2002 version and then new 2003 version is the same. Yes, the pages are different but my book only cost $5. The homeworks are quite weird. I think we should pick up the pace and move on faster.

Today, we worked with queries. We joined the Employer table and Position table. Our query filtered out other information that didnt not involved employers ID, start date, end date and their avaliable position. We also worked with relationships. We added a relationship between the Employer table and the Position table. The relationship between them was the Employer ID. It was a one to many relationship, Employer being the one and Position being the many.

Today, I learned how to import tables from other database. A lot of our classwork involves importing tables from already set up databases. I think we should speed up on Access since we all have some general background. Maybe we can do some queries and reports. My book hasnt come yet, so it's hard for me to follow.

Today, we did the tutorial exercise. I found out that the tutorial excerise doesn't lead anywhere. All the tables can be found in the CD, but we don't have the CD. We downloaded the zip file, which contains all the tables, from the website. My book is coming so I wasn't ready for class today. I purchased the Access 2002 book because I felt there isn't any much updates done to Access. The older version is much cheaper. I brought it for $6 on half.com.

Hey! Today, I learned how a supermarket system works. There are a lot of tables involved in making a computer system. I took system analysis so it's really easy for me. Most of the tables deal with accounting. So far, we have the customer sales table, the item sale table, and the inventory table. We have homework to enter 10 records for the inventory table and 5 records for the customer sale table. I think the class should have more hands on project.

Today, we learn how to put together a database. We did an inventory database for a supermarket. I didnt learn much since i learned SQL and system analysis. This class to me is really easy but i dont mind refreshing on some memory. We had a assignment. I created a form for the table and i entered 10 records. I also did a report.
